Leaves are falling from the trees!
Let's go for a dendrological walk to find out why leaves change colours, why they fall, whether trees sleep in winter, and why the Christmas tree is evergreen.
During winter walks, it may seem that all the plants have fallen asleep ... But are they really asleep? Do trees breathe and feed in winter? Why can't some trees have leaves in winter? Do trees have anything to cover themselves with so that they do not freeze on cold days? We will also learn why the Christmas tree is evergreen and what coniferous trees shed their needles for the winter. We'll look at the bark to learn how to recognise tree species.
