Research and care of collections

The Museum is the custodian of material, cultural, natural, as well as symbolic resources – the layer of intellectual resources associated with the historical royal residence. The basis of good management is the continuous expansion of knowledge – the study, documentation and monitoring of these resources using the latest available techniques. The Museum initiates and conducts research in the humanities and natural sciences. It then transforms the results of this research and discoveries during conservation activities into programmes addressed to the Museum's audience, programmes which are attractive and adapted to diverse expectations and capabilities.
