Museums are a feast for the senses: we watch, listen, smell, and more and more often we can also touch something. However, sometimes there are too many stimuli and instead of a pleasant experience of history or art, we feel satiated, stressed and nervous. In the “Sensorium Wilanów” project, we have planned solutions that will allow people with sensory problems to explore the museum and take part in cultural events as independently and actively as possible. In turn, it will increase the comfort of work for museum employees and enable them to provide professional service to our visitors.

Planned solutions

increasing employee competences:
  • a style book, unifying the way information is written on the website
  • training

preparing and facilitating a visit to the museum:
  • quiet hours in the palace
  • sensory maps
  • sensory backpacks
  • pre-guide

activating guests:
  • workshops on creating tactile books
  • tactile embroidery workshops
  • adaptation of the board game “The Eagle Takes All”
  • sensory walks around the gardens

We are implementing the project until December 2023.
