The Baroque palace at Wilanów, the work of King Jan III Sobieski, counts among the most exquisite Polish royal residences.
The remaining original interiors, with decorations that date back to the times of the original owner, captivate to this day, and the complex narrative they weave testifies vigorously to the monarch’s erudition. At the same time, the Wilanów residence is also a symbol of King Jan III’s unparalleled status in Polish history. In 1805 Stanisław Kostka Potocki opened the first museum of arts in Poland inside the palace, with royal apartments and Sobieski memorabilia as a major asset.
